Perishable air freight shipments are not handled by all freight forwarders, and not all airlines are equal in this regard either. Each destination and each product requires a specific manner in which your products must be handled to have them arrive safely to their destination.
We have successfully forwarded millions of pounds of frozen and perishable food items by air freight. We export items with gel packs and dry ice, in insulated shippers, envirotainers or with our own combinations. Jade personnel are directly on hand when your shipments are required to be delivered to the airport to ensure that your products are moved safely and successfully.
Direct air freight shipments are set up using most of the world’s passenger and cargo airlines. This gives us the ability to match the strengths, services, and the handling capabilities of the airline to the needs of our clients. Direct air shipments generally afford a faster transit time.
Consolidated air freight shipments will use a variety of cargo and passenger airlines. The major benefit of a consolidation is the cost savings. Having less frequency of shipments allows multiple shipments to be consolidated and move as one larger shipment passing the savings on to each of the shippers in the consolidation. With a consolidation, the transit time is generally longer as these types of shipments are normally once or twice a week and dependent upon the destination.
Hazardous air freight shipments are first screened by our staff of certified hazmat (hazardous material) specialists upon receipt. This screening is a second check to ensure the goods are properly packed and ready for carriage by air freight. If we discover a problem, it allows the shipment to be turned around and corrected, minimizing the delay and costs associated with a rejected shipment by the air carrier. It also gives our clients an extra measure of security.
