Jade International provides tailored ocean export solutions that go beyond booking space — we manage your supply chain with strategy, precision, and care.
Ocean export freight forwarding involves shipping goods from the United States to international destinations via sea freight. Jade International manages full container loads (FCL), less-than-container loads (LCL), documentation, inland transport, and port coordination.
Ocean export transit times vary by origin and destination: Asia (20-35 days), Europe (15-25 days), South America (15-30 days), and Australia (35-70 days). These times include inland transport to port, ocean transit, and destination port clearance. Based on origin and destination, there are different service options available.
FCL (Full Container Load) means you rent an entire 20ft or 40ft container for your exclusive use. LCL (Less than Container Load) means your cargo shares container space with other shippers. FCL offers faster transit and less handling; LCL is more economical for smaller shipments.
Standard containers include 20ft (TEU), 40ft, and 40ft high cube. Jade International also arranges specialized equipment including refrigerated containers (reefers), flat racks for oversized cargo, and open-top containers when needed.
Most products don’t require export licenses, but certain items (military equipment, advanced technology, some chemicals) do require licensing from agencies like BIS or DDTC.
Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing through AES is required for exports exceeding $2,500 per Schedule B classification or for items requiring licenses. Jade International handles EEI filing as part of our ocean export services.
Yes, Jade International arranges refrigerated containers (reefers) and temperature-controlled logistics for perishable foods, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive products. We coordinate proper settings, monitoring, and rapid transits to maintain cold chain integrity.
Key ocean export documents include: commercial invoice, packing list, SLI, bill of lading (B/L), shipper’s export declaration, certificate of origin (when required), and any product-specific certificates.
A bill of lading is the contract between shipper and carrier, serving as a receipt for goods and title document. Consider this your travel ticket.
